Questions about aldol condensation.?

I was wondering what would happen if you didn't cool the initial reaction in aldol condensation. Will a different product form? Also, in my lab we are forming dibenzylacetone and I can't find a density for it. Does anyone happen to know it or know where I can find it. I've tried chemfinder and a couple of other sites but they don't have a density given.

If you didn't cool the initial reaction in this aldol condensation, side reactions such as Micheal reaction between dibenzylacetone and acetone or polymerization might occur because of heating and the yield of desired product decrease.
Since dibenzylacetone is a solid at room temperature (b.p. 110-111 degC), there is no density data about it (only oil at room temperature has density).
