Ancient medieval economic thought?

what are the contributions of ancient greeks concerning during ancient and medieval economic thought particularly plato and aristotle?

Most of Plato's teachings were how the well fare of the group is more important than the individual, there fore his teachings were more of a communial nature. Aristotle was another that taught that the state was more important.
I'll add to the previous answer:

the medieval economy was based upon guilds, with a strong state to impose price stipulations. Not much thought was put to it, but rather that tradesmen were told what to produce, how much to produce, what price to charge, in an effort to keep societal divisions of wealth at a minimum.
