2. The attitude emphasizing work over leisure is typically associated to East Asians, who are viewed as hard-working, diligent people with strong work ethic. However, the World Values Survey data show that East Asians (esp., S. Koreans) do not necessarily value work more than leisure compared to other nationals ( e.g., Argentines, Brazilians, etc.). Why is this so?

its difficult for these people to say whether or not the actually value work over leisure. the reason why it may appear like they do could possibly be because they are now just beginning to work therefore the extra income earnt from a few extra hours of work is valued significantly more than the hours they would spend pursuing leisure activities just because their incomes are so low.
