Anywhere where I can get a very rough estimate on how much a Wind Power Plant would cost?

On that could power a small town such as Whistler, Canada?

Answer:
The price for modern wind turbines is about US$1.25 - $1.50 per watt of rating for the wind turbines themselves. After the turbines are constructed and all the other work is done to connect the turbines to the grid, this price roughly doubles.

100 MW wind plant costs about US$ 250 Million (perhaps more) before the first watt of power is produced. Of course, this 100 MW wind plant, at full output could power a lot more than 1 little town. But when the wind isn't blowing, power will have to come from some other "dispatchable" generating station.
