What is meant by the load angle when using a spreader beam when lifting using cranes?

Answer:
Are you going for a crane operators interview or something ?
it is like, the angle of the wires or chains which the spreader bar is hanging from. The wires which go to the end of the spreader bar- the angle of these wires.

The load on these wires can be terriffic, surprisingly so- greatly in excess of the weight of the object being lifted.

This is a specialised subject which I know very little about. But I have seen these calculations being done and the load angle is critical.

You have to be very very careful when using spreader beams.
Ecky is correct. To minimize this load, use a longer chain so that the chains going up from the spreader are more vertical. The more horizontal these are, the higher the load they must carry.
