A question about voltage?

If I sent a 12v charge through a DC plug thingy to a camera designed to take 3.3v on accident, could the camera be shocked and die?

yes ,any circuit component could be damaged since the 12V will make large amps to go through the circuit and then burn it
Unless the camera power input has a voltage limiter in the circuit, you could burn something out very quickly.
yes its obvious
You may have destroyed it but the easy way to see is to try charging with the correct charger then see if it works.
