Why does acid rain have an effect on trees?

if you can, can please put in a detailed paragraph form

Answer:
slows growth burns leafs etc...soil damage
I am not even sure that acid rain is existant. Take point in case, snow. If acid rain was existant, then wouldn't it be consistant with snow, as another form of precipitation? But that would be impossible. Snow is very pure in its form and perfect in symetry. So if acid rain is real, then how can snow still fall?
