Anyone in the scrap metal business?

How does one tell the difference between insulated #1 copper wire, and insulated #2 copper wire for scrapping purposes?

Go to Demolition, Scrap Metal and Salvage News website for information on scrap metal prices, buyers/sellers, and general metal market info
Insulation class has nothing to do with cost, if you have to scrap wires only. Insulation class is applicable when you select wire for a service.
Scrap dealers that I'm familiar with have two grades of copper, #1 and #2.

#1 copper is more or less pure copper that is found in insulated wire. #2 copper is copper that has been used as water or drain pipe and contains a little scale and other impurities.
